On-site fabrication of fiberglass shower pans that conform to any shape without seams, using polyester resin and layers of random-weave fiberglass mat. Extremely durable usually installed between the framing and drywall phase, but can be installed at any stage of construction or remodel.
The base price for an installed shower pan is $800 (3 ft. by 5 ft rectangle) pricing is contingent upon a variety of factors.
Process--Prior to fabrication of a fiberglass shower pan the stalls should include backing between the studs or flashing attached to the front of the studs and extended up from the floor approximately 6-8 inches to provide a surface for the fiberglass to lay against until it cures. The floor can be pre-sloped and a curb in place.
After the glass and resin are applied, cure time is approximately 6 hours, followed by a final gel coat with a cure time of approximately 3 hours.
Cannot be penetrated by sharp debis, scaffolding or trowels. A top layer of wax-free gel coat completes the process and the pan is ready for finished floor. Benches can be encapsulated into the shower pan creating a unibody fiberglass skin. Other applications include second floor exterior decks, porches, washing machine trays and thresholds.
